Are there any #Nostr users that don't care about #bitcoin or #zaps?
Like, are there segments of users here that are more interested in free speech or an algo-less social media experiment than cryptocurrency?
If they're not here yet, I think they'll be here soon.
Depends, there's a lot of people on here who talk about Monero.
I think the main reason Nostr is so bitcoiny/Crypto focused right now is because Bitcoin twitter is where most of the current users are coming from.
Though there are some tik tok people that visited briefly, I think Zapping is heavily encouraged on here.
For me, zaps don't make a difference really but it's nice, I only accepted them because I was tired of people asking me to enable zaps.
I'm primarily here for the free speech.

I care about Bitcoin and zaps but I do think much of the discussion here is too focused on those subjects. Nostr can be a bit of an Bitcoin echo chamber at times.

YES! ME! OMG! I'm so fucking tired of hearing the word Bitcoin! I even had it as the filtered word but had to take it out because it was blocking regular posts just because the user had "Bitcoin" in their bio.
Image you're talking about someone at a party and the other person tells you, "Oh him? Yeah, all he talks about is money." How does that characterize that person on "fun" scale? How "fun" is someone if all they talk about is money? I'd say not very. Guess what? Bitcoin is money. All y'all talk about is money. "This money good other money bad". Over and over like a broken record.

I feel you. Money has its place, but aren't relationships and community about so much more?
