Zero knowledge proofs will allow IDs and permissions to happen on the 2nd or 3rd layer of #bitcoin. With a NIP focusted on authentication #lightening could help with this. No need for shitcoins.
The launch of the #Worldcoin #crypto caught #Vitalik’s eye (no pun intended) who wrote an in-depth article about the pros and cons of this #ProofOfPersonhood protocol. For many reasons, I’m not a fan of Worldcoin but I think that Proof-of-Personhood protocols have the potential to be a tool that can bring profound and positive societal changes for the #plebs. That said there are a few characteristics these protocols should fulfill to not turn into enablers of dystopian systems. One of them is to allow individuals to ditch their #DigitalID for new ones (although they must be prevented from maintaining several valid IDs). Also, newly generated IDs must not be linkable to previous generated IDs. #Idena is one PoP #blockchain that seems to meet these criteria. Zero-knowledge proof is no magic bullet though. There is a lot of room for your personal identifiers to leak. Look at the data collected by the #Worldcoin app that users are required to use to verify their identity with an orb. 
That is #worldcoin, not development on bitcoin layers. I can't think of a situation without some sort of centralized oracle. Obfuscation of data points is key.
Right, but you were referring of building an identity layer on #Bitcoin layer 2 or 3. What mechanism do you envision for this? My point was that zero-knowledge proof alone isn’t an identity solution. You still need a method for ID/personhood verification.
