If I print my pubkey on my stuff could that be used to prove I owned it?

Like I got robbed found my stuff in a pawn shop, but show them the matching pubkey on the bottom, would that be enough proof?

This is a good idea but you will have to explain non-tech the people why you are the true owner of your stuff (encrypting something with the pubkey and decrypting it with your secret key may not be enough for them as they won’t understand how this technology works)
