kinda strange to find a piece of chipped red volcanic glass a foot down in the ground around here. 🤔

Every rock has a story. I always wish I could know them.

this is just a very unusual place to find it. its plentiful in idaho/utah/nevada. but ive never seen it here.

i think you may be right. it’s unusually light weight.

i also found what looked like remnants of a charcoal blackened tree at the same level. it would be trippy if this is evidence of Mt Rainier blowing a couple hundred years ago.

I've found a few arrowheads or arrowhead chips or what looks like an arrowhead that was under construction then got rejected and tossed away. Every time, I wonder, "Who was the last person to hold this stone? And when? And what was he thinking at the time?"

no. not where i found it. and its not manufactured glass. its naturally occurring.

In either case there will probably be more. Hope you find a chunk of it.
