Police Scotland are under fire for falling short of their commitment to end violence against women after a man who attacked a woman at a rally in Aberdeen was handed a caution.
Neale Hanvey, the Alba MP, in a letter to deputy chief constable Jane Connors, raised his fears of the force’s response accusing it of breaching its own strategic commitment to take violence against females seriously. Mr Hanvey said he was “alarmed” by the “apparent dismissal” of the incident.
