We get hectares on large listings here but they always show acres in the description because most don't know how big a hectare is. I know 40 hectares is roughly 100 acres but I'd rather know how big the land is in acres.

Smaller blocks are in square metres which makes more sense to the average Australian.

1000m² is roughly a quarter acre. A quarter acre block used to be the standard suburban block but it's now considered very big.
