True, sometimes all you can read on Nostr is GM.

Make friends. Your curated feed is your contacts list. "Curated content" is bad. Being addicted is bad. Making friends and talking to people is good.
Use nos2x or alby to login on listr.lol
There you can create lists of accounts with high signal or you can simply copy lists of the suggested Accounts.
Oh btw, you should be an Amethyst user. I don't think any other client supports lists atm... 🫣
Snort.social and primal.net offer several "trending" feeds, that you can choose from.
I'm loving communities. I interact with some on Amethyst, but I've created two of my own using Satellite.
