Nostr has stabilized at 40k weekly users. Nostr is neither too big, nor too small. There are enough users for new daily content. If it were much bigger I think the social engineers would come in further. I dont know what the perfect size for nostr is. Perhaps 2x bigger than now, or perhaps exactly where we are. 2x smaller would I tihnk be bad.
Are you implying within the scope of the mainly social apps now?
I bet you’re in few company hoping for a user ceiling. I hope the protocol gets 1000x users and scales content self-custody, censorship resistance, plus the other benefits. I hope the app types diversify from social and people find resilient ways to monetize. I think the social engineering becomes less effective due to the protocol structure. Maybe that’s just idealistic.
Yes, that might be nice. I also thought about it when nostr had its explosive growth phase. But we dont have the relays for 1000x users. It remains to be seen whether 2x users can be handled. When I look at bluesky which is 10x bigger than nostr, there seems to be a lot of political promotion, whearas nostr, seems a bit more authentic, right now.
Any data on new user adoption? How active are new users in the week 1 compared to week 6 vs week 12. It would be good to know if new users are only testing or more engaged as time carries. Or what clients new users use most? Or what does healthy action look like for proper profile growth?
