The masses just means outside of occultic elite and technology is a savior. From fire to networks to 3d printed guns. It's always increased self-sufficiency.

the masses has an actual definition - you should use it properly or say what you actually mean then...
and as much as technology "increased self-sufficiency", it has equally(at best) increased dependency, thus most likely canceling out any gains....
