I think education is key!
It's hard to circumvent the creation of harmful things, but if you educate people correctly, they will say no to these, and less harm at the end.
I think education has a huge influence on everything. But education is also controlled by non-independent people, therefore it is also a means of control. Undo bad education might undo bad learned patterns, habbits.
