Consider that in countries where the income is 3000 a month, eating a lunch is 1 not 50. Just spoke with a guy that had a company in Tunisia. Dinner out is 5-6. An haircut is 1.5.... so they are quite happy with not so much money

However it is definitely important to consider cost of living and local markets when valuing one's own position.
The distortion of necessity and desire is a reflection of the inability to value the world. Many below the Median could not comprehend the wealth of a drug addict living on the street in the 1st World.
