I definitely don't think Putin is a good guy, but he isn't a madman. He is very calculating. If he were the madman everyone has made him out to be, he would've nuked the Ukraine and/or the US by now for our actions. If you change the parties US for Russia, Mexico for Ukraine, and Russia for the US, the US would've nuked Russia by now.

I’m sorry. You’re absolutely correct. He’s not a simple madman. He’s a diabolical, calculating madman.

yes, you see, but do their decisions really matter?

to a many, but not to the few who realise that they are in a cage match millions and they have the option of finding parts of the arena that nobody is gonna drop a bomb on

are you following the madmen or are you deciding your fate?

I don't want tyrant Putin to win. I also don't want corrupt Zelensky to win. I think the best compromise and way to end this fruitless war is to allow the disputed countries to become a sovereign nation of their own. They were supposed to be semi-autonomous before the war started and had voted to leave Ukraine multiple times. If they are their own nation, neither side wins and neither side loses. These poor people whose lives and lands have been destroyed get to say good riddance to both sides. There will be a buffer nation between the two. It seems like a win-win-win.

Putin's two given reasons for attacking were that Ukraine was mistreating the ethnic Russians in the Donbas and surrounding areas and that the possibility of Ukraine joining Nato would put a Nato nation on Russia's border making them feel vulnerable and breaking the US promise to them. Making these disputed lands a sovereign nation would answer both of his stated concerns making it difficult for him to refuse (whether his reasons were true or excuses).
