weapons are now 1/20th the price.
killing is now 1/20 the cost of when on a dollar standard.

if the money is relatively stable against other commodities, it's harder to debase, and debasement is a cheap way of robbing people without them realising, just ask every empire in recorded history

if not, no. you can absolutely pay for war without debasing money.
