Yup, nothing changes. It is all theater. National Security reasons include "it would expose abuse of power, jeapordizing faith in the state."

That is not a problem if the government isn't trustworthy.

If your wife catches you cheating numerous times, you can't say to her, "our relationship is in jeopardy because you don't trust me."
