Does anyone find it strange that he pens a letter asking for a moratorium on advanced AI because of its danger and then starts a new AI company? It almost seems like he wants to stop his competitors from innovating while he catches up.

I do think that stopping AI and setting some ground rules to prevent harm being caused by AI is a good idea, but I somewhat doubt Elon's motives.

Similarly, he acted like a free speech guy when releasing the twitter files, but then has prevented anyone from sharing substack articles on twitter or imbedding tweets on substack because substack created a notes feature that could compete with twitter.

Elon just doesn't seem consistent. I can't say if he is just someone who thinks he believes one thing until it is inconvenient and then compromises (maybe without realizing he is compromising) or if he is really smart and playing the American people in an attempt at online world domination.
