You can redirect your own domain to your existing NIP-05 to keep the best of both worlds if you want!
If you mean your NIP-05 then no, you wouldn’t lose anything. It’s just a verification method. Easily changeable
I switched to self hosted from nostrplebs. No content lost. Content is tied to your npub not nip05 verifier. Nostrplebs service details I'm not sure about. #[3]gave me access to the relay bc i self hosted.
