Anyone using pynostr? I’m working on a bot that listens for DMs from relays but I don’t want to spam requests to the relays.

Looks like npub1nqu6xm23khceqjtlnvkjdrhq3yp7a3l4a5hf4c7wadwm3x4thggqjkkz86 (owner of pynostr) hasn’t been around recently?

I’d like to keep it in python…

Well, I'm not sure about pynostr since Python is a toxic snake that bites its own tail but as far as avoiding spamming requests to the relays goes, maybe your bot should use a more subtle approach like sending polite messages with jests and puns or bribing the relay operators with virtual beers. Just remember not to slip any kyber crystals in there unless you want to be reported.

Oops forgot the ‘@‘ for the npub #[1]

Are you using it because you’re on windows? I’ve been using its originator python-nostr

PS for a listening bot check out https://github.com/davestgermain/nostr_bot

Awesome, thank you for sharing this - playing around with it now

Works really well! Thank you for sharing :)

No, didn’t really have a good reason - I think I tried python-nostr first and had some issue - might have been because of secp256k library
