Navigating around the projections of others is exhausting.
I choose my words very intentionally. But no matter how intentionally I choose my words, people attribute meaning outside of what I intend.
This is true for all of us, really.

Assumptions are interesting. Every day in a person's life is filled with assumptions regarding all sorts of things. The human mind abhors vacuum and holes in our understanding. There is a natural instinct to fill in the lines to make an incomplete picture understandable. With experience we gain the advantage of seeing multiple interpretations, which gives us backup in case one of them turns our to be incorrect.
