I don't mean this in relation to the gender, but maybe you don't realise that those "harmless" contraceptive pills make you smell different and it disrupts your natural sense of smell that makes you seek out contact with men who are actually viable biological partners.

And to be fair, men mostly are smothering their natural smell with things because of the ridicule you get from bullies when you get a bit funky in the afternoon. I doubt that helps either, since pheromones are very subtle smells.
