I’d prob run it on VPS, GitHub pages would likely be useful to more people though.
Have you thought about building in a group chat/community? Telegram is the go to for this but would be cool to have meetup-in-a-box

But yes, flotilla is the ux I think is optimal, but am open to additional suggestions. Currently budabit has the best fork of that plus adds ngit.
I think the first thing I'm going to do is make this generic so it is easy to configure and then make it even more generic so each page is its own repo/microservice so folks could pick and choose which pages they'd want.

Pick and choose is a good way to go. I’m thinking for a new meetup but it will be harder to get existing meetups to move group chats and stuff, a meetup calendar though would be good regardless
