At first glance, one might think 31k is a large number, but it's not. There are roughly 8 billion humans on earth. 31k/8b means that <0.00038985% of people have 1 or more BTC. Why "less than?" Because 31k ADDRESSES have 1 or more BTC, not necessarily 31k PEOPLE.

For example, I could have 5 BTC for myself, but each BTC is sitting in its own address (UTXO), which might look like 5 people. There are about 56 million millionaires on earth. Holding 1 BTC>millionaire status, but the rest of the world hasn't yet realized the intrinsic value of Bitcoin.
