SIX HUNDRED+ packages later and my #gentoo system is fully updated (plus flatpaks!)

i had to manually assign environments a lot and restart the upgrade several times, but this is the price you pay for peak optimization 🦾

proud to say that my #linux system needs no reinstall or distro hop, and is now stable, upgraded, and backed up

this all means, i can finally go to sleepπŸŽ‰

Congratulations! I ran gentoo years ago and liked it. These days I’d rather someone else spend the money on the electricity. Void is my go to distro. Nice and stable, light weight with runit. Great with zfsbootmenu and an encrypted zfs file system.. easy snapshotting and rollbacks in case of a disaster.

void is a fantastic distro, i used it on several laptops (including a 32-bit thinkpad!)

but yeah, gentoo sucks a lot of electricity βš‘πŸ”Œ (and time! ⏳)

i used to run it on my laptop too, before i switched to artix 🐧➑️🐧

Artix is good too. I have it running on one of my 6 thinkpads. Can never have enough thinkpads.

too right πŸ’ͺπŸ’―

to add to this, i use F2FS (filesystem), and timeshift for backups

no bootloader, i just use the UEFI menu if i need to change boot targets

I get what you mean by sucks a lot of time, btw.
