To be fair it's not just progressive people, it's everyone in a sense. The root cause is that people like to moralize what others choose to do with their money. Sometimes this is justified of course when how one chooses to use their money actively harms or exploits others - which is likely what is seen with Bitcoin for the aforementioned group of people.
