There's one, who complained about engagement here, and got trolled pretty heavily
It’s so interesting how Nostr vs. other social networks seems to encourage and reward different types of personalities and behaviors. There are certainly influential people on Nostr but you just don’t see the stereotypical “influencer” behaviors gaining much traction. I wonder if it’s because of the values of the active users already here, or because of the lack of algos, or something else?
Also I think the people on Nostr are no-nonsense folk.
They are way too intelligent to be taken in by influencers and their kind.
Sure there will be some but the majority at this time are really not interested, just my thoughts. 🫂
I do think that many of the people actively using Nostr came here to get away from the algos and fake engagement common on other networks. Seems to be a common sentiment.
I'm still trying to suss out who the influencers are. I guess everything takes a lower time preference if you need quality over quantity.
💯 There’s a difference, at least in my mind, between someone being influential and someone being an “influencer.” Idk maybe they’re the same thing but I’d like to think that the time it takes to build a good reputation makes someone more genuinely influential vs. someone who is artificially boosted by algos while others are de-boosted.
