I’m in a group chat with family and their friends. All conservative and neo con minded boomers. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but the world they came to love is much different than the reality we foresee. They were collectively and rightfully gripping about their loss in purchasing power, inability to retire, and frustration in the theft of their retirements. I told them bitcoin fixes this… their responses?

“Own assets that have real value. Land, precious metals, essential items. All other things actually are valueless.”

“They will destroy bitcon. They don’t want a competing currency they cannot control.”

My response:

“Not seeking an argument, on the matter. But, Our money is already destroyed and has been for some time. Anyone continuing to hold dollars and bonds lose value every day.

The younger generation, and increasingly more boomers whether you like it or not sees bitcoin as an out to the slavery to money printers, tyrants, and debased monies. And quite frankly it is the last best hope at this time for an achieving those means. Every liberty seeking individual should be seeking to ensure such freedoms for posterity. If not bitcoin? What are we doing instead to ensure we leave a better world?

As it stands today, destroying bitcoin would require $20 billion dollars in hardware and a sustained power consumption of a European country. While the US presses a couple buttons to debase my income… my savings, and any hope at future wealth. I’ll take my chances.

We don’t and can’t own land, the government owns the land, you rent it. Property taxes prove that and will continue to be used to rob wealth and ownership as they increase. Land can be taken from you.

Precious metals retain value, but can and will become illegal to use again when the government needs a bailout. Executive order 6102.

As the youngest member of this group, while anecdotal - my generation sees a need for a new system. One where economic gain isn’t created from the stolen future wealth and output of myself and the unborn through money printing. The last fifty years of growth and value increase on paper cannot and will not happen again without pain and collapse. The gravy train is over and my future is bleak. Fix the money, fix the world.”

Stay humble and stack sats. #bitcoin

Great response! Some of these boomers remember the pre-1971 world and think that's the way things "should" be. They're partially right but we can never go back.
