Specifically, count of 4 in, hold for 7, out for 8.
Repeat until you feel calm and relaxed, can be a minute, can be 5 mins, depending on the stress level to start.
The technique basically switches one from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system.. then you can think clearly again and decide how to proceed ..
