Security options:
How big is your stack?
10-30% of your networth.
Get a hardware wallet. At a minimum store your stack in a 24 word seed phrase with passphrase wallets.
For each 5% of your networth. Have a new seed phrase to separate your stack.
Keep 5% in your main wallet to give in case of a 5$ wrench attack.
...,..............................
30 - 100% of your networth.
(Do a TON of research. Make sure you know what you're doing, including backups. A mistake here can cost you your WHOLE stack.... Forever...)
3 to 4 hardware wallets for either a 2/3 or 3/4 multisig setup. (I like coldcard, but bonus points for using different manufacturers for hardware cold wallet.)
For each 15% of your networth have a multi SIG setup, each wallet used to sign should have a passphrase.
Repeat till your stack is behind multiple multisig (passphrase wallets)....
Keep your hardware wallets separate.
Keep your xpub for all your wallets with your seeds....
You can't restore your multisig wallet without your xpubs.
Keep your seed phrases separate.
This process adds complexity, and a lot of security.
I say again. Approach this with an open mind.
Do your research.
Have a good backup plan.
Test your backup plan.
Things to think about.
What happens in a flood, tornados, earthquake, break and enter, spiteful partner, or fire?
How will your backups fare.
Gl!
Get after it.
Get it done!
