Can’t blame you there. Though honestly if you have access to a Raspberry Pi or similar small single board computer, you can very easily set up a private relay. Various services exist for sovereign control as well. Personally I use @Start9​, there is also Umbrel, as well as learning how to do it all via CLI on Linux. Start9 is super easy to use though I’d definitely recommend.
