Weeding the garden this morning, My beets bombed..... huge stalks but tiny bulbs...... Taking suggestions?

Typical for crowding or too much nitrogen.
Beets should be 5-8cm apart with 30cm between rows.
If not crowding then lack of phosphorous (too much nitrogen)
Add bone meal to soil as a phosphorous source.
