My understanding is Bitcoin would likely require a fork (perhaps even a hard fork) to adapt to quantum but adapt it would.
Disclaimer: didn't watch the video.
Personally, I think what matters are the values of bitcoin, not bitcoin. It might die or whatever, but that is not the point.
I don't have enough faith in humanity to think the same way, though.
I kind of think its values are tied to its technology.
Loosing the technology likely would mean loosing the values.
I think the technology will keep changing to represent those values. Forks are basically a change in technology. There are a few in bitcoin's history.
Bitcoin is also open source. Anyone can easily start a new bitcoin copy. There are many, actually. However, bitcoin remains at the top, for now.
I want justice and freedom. I'm OK with switching to tree leaves as money if that's what will achieve those.
