I've read through the entire controversy and it's interesting to know, thanks.

However, I probably will consider switching to it, once Gitea actually did some stupid design decision out of greed. As long as this does not happen, I don't see a huge problem in a company being created to give developers a chance to make an actual living with it.

For now, if the only thing Lunny has done "wrong" is making a company out of it, it's not a reason to leave the entire project.
