TIL,

Internet censorship is not a domestic event, done by domestic actors, intermediated by domestic government, and domestic tech platform policies.

Internet censorship is an export product from the United States, and its Blob of anti populist, control seeking bureaucracies and federal agencies. They have been setting up censorship engines in countries all over the world, including Brazil. And the reason the arrest of the Telegram founder came out of the U.S. embassy in France, is because the U.S. government no longer belongs to its people, but to a criminal class of bureaucrats who transcend party politics, and whose only export isn’t “democracy” as they claim, but the global control of Technocratic Fascism, and economic terrorism.

You are right of course, but I wouldn't frame it like something US related or even unique.

Censorship is absolutely native to any government. It is with government/ruling class since ever. Kings were censoring information, churches were doing it, all the modern governments are doing it.
