Over dinner I've been thinking "what if" we were to create a platform similar to Amazon but for Bitcoin products and merchants with shipping centres in the US, EU and Asia? I know, we have "online stores" for Bitcoin products but that's not the same. For example, me ordering from nostr:npub1uzt238htjzpq39dxmltlx60vxym9fetk9czz6kddq6fhvkf4z3usy9qtrh makes no sense. Import and shipping will make the product uninteresting / too expensive. But, if we had a EU distribution center buying from US merchants in larger scale, it would completely change the cost and import prices for such products.

Bitcoinzone .com ??

An important thing to do would be making it so it has no single point of catastrophic failure.

Maximizing the privacy of customers (not necessarily the producers) would also be a nice thing to have

Also, making this idea eventually more general (not only Bitcoin) would be viable

What do you think about this, nostr:nprofile1qyw8wumn8ghj7cmgwf5hxarsd9kxctnwdaehgu339e3k7mf0qydhwumn8ghj7argv4nx7un9wd6zumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejz7qpqm4ny6hjqzepn4rxknuq94c2gpqzr29ufkkw7ttcxyak7v43n6vvs8k0auy ?

Yes on everything you just said.

Nostr is the medium because it can achieve the first thing in theory.

In a market, competing entrepreneurs must be public (you want to sell a lot of things to the biggest number of people, therefore you can't be private). Increasing the privacy of customers can be improved to some degree.

If people are able to see cheap prices, that sends them a signal to buy and that can increase the opacity of certain customers and also incentivizes the producers around the world to keep competing fiercely to keep doing transactions through the amazon-like app without being censored.

This topic has a lot of interesting things to think but I don't want to get boring

thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I agree that such a platform should be built on and around the nostr protocol. That makes perfect sense
