Alright, through a rather circuitous route I eventually get to the point, with a friend who talked about OpenAI requiring KYS... sorry KYC, which is:

if those models are asking you for all that information, it's telling you you don't want to use those models anyway and their output is going to be useless.

So don't find yourself conflicted saying, 'I really want to see the output from these things and yet I have to get up this information.' The fact that it wants you to give up that information, is telling you that the output is going to be useless.
