I think the article would have benefitted from being less polemic and more pursuasive. Reads too much like preaching to the choir and ignores the mental and emotional diversity that white American men (and Asian men, as they're the foreign competition) display.

They are, after all, a gigantic group and overrepresented in the scientic/engineering specialty. You could select differently among that group and get a better result.
