Shipping batteries is no joke. I used to be the national service manager for a company that builds and distributes industrial UPS solutions for mission critical power applications. The biggest battery banks would have as many as 32 100a-h batteries in them. A couple thousand pounds, easily. We had one fall over in the truck enroute to the plant for final assembly and testing, and the side of the cabinet looked like someone had taken a cutting torch to it where the terminals on one battery grounded against the side. Critical power is a pretty interesting industry. We provided units for hospitals providing haemo dialysis, oil refineries, nuclear facilities, the military, prisons, navy vessels and research facilities with mass spec units. Unfortunately the owner was a real prick. Here’s a pic of my last day. That’s my story. Good luck with your install!
