Every student in the U.S., at least in high school, is required to take economics. And usually at university as well.

And in those courses, things like supply and demand and price controls are literally covered. At least when I was growing up they were.

For some reason, these issues seem “political” now? In school it was pretty simple….price controls for the most part do not work, particularly outside of emergency, incredible short term catastrophe measures. It was like a “democrat” or “republican” argument lol. It was like a capitalism, liberal democracy thing (which within that system there can be progressives and conservatives!)

The grocery store price control conversation is just very silly. Could not be further from the cause or the solution.
