i dont like taxes either - but currently a company pays ~$3m for a new drug application, this is not the only fee, nor does it include the internal costs associated with just completing the filing the application, which may about the same cost.

If the tax payers were pay more - the fed would need to cut a lot of other spending (yeah right!!)

Oh I agree and it's never going to happen and the revolving door will continue. It doesn't make it acceptable. I also have a huge problem with them providing the majority of funding even off hand for studies either. Also everything the FDA has pulled was once approved so clearly it doesn't matter
