Avoiding cloud services is better for privacy. 🙂
How do you back up your pictures or files from your phone? Run your own server?
I manually move them to my computer and then rsync to an SD card, but I actually don't keep many media files.
For cloud storage ProtonDrive is a fine option I think.
There's also Nextcloud if you want to try self-hosting
This is why I bought 256Gb. I just keep everything on my phone and move it to my local storage on my PC when I get a new phone. Usually every 2-3 years.
A cloud is just someone else's PC. Cloud and Privacy are like opposites.
Even end to end encryption?
If the data is stored somewhere you can't pull the hard drive, I'm not trusting them to retain my privacy.
