You should all check out the film Ithaka about his struggle to free his son Julian. It is profoundly moving

The film is also a good reminder of why Wikileaks was created: because the largest protest in history failed to stop a war

Julian saw this and decided to use software to change the world… leaks submitted to his platform ultimately helped end the war in Iraq

Bitcoin also played a key role in the story in helping sustain Wikileaks through donations and also, later, through becoming the internal currency of the organization

People always ask: what’s Bitcoin’s use case? The funny thing is that the “use case” is no different than what it was in 2011: giving people money that governments can’t stop ✌️
