Every boss wants their W2 employees to be internally entrepreneurial as long as they do not become real entrepreneurs.
There. I said the quiet part out loud.

one of the noteworthy broken incentives of the employee/employer structure, agreed.
It's actually very fiat, now that I think a little more.
Someone can (and should) only take a risk if there's an expectation of a reward, so only those on commission, ownership, or similar incentives can do that.
Telling the others do act entrepreneur-like is like telling them to eat rocks.
w2 employship is most definitely fiat as all hell 🤙 a necessary component of automated segniorage. they steal your wealth before you even get it and then you have to humbke yourself at the altar every april 15th to get some crumbs back. fucking crazy.
and yes no one should risk anything as an employee. as a matter of fact, i think the only reason one should be a w2'er is with it in mind to get the skills needed from selling your time and labor to another, then start your own endeavor. to subsist in the w2 landscape is the worst, imo
