Under the assumption of progressive history the past really doesn’t matter or apply as of value to be studied. Only so much as to what can be forecast like the weather. The present moment becomes all that matters - what can my credit buy me today…

Well, I still find history interesting because of what you can learn about human nature or better human nafs. Those little 'kings' they had in the past ... now we're all kind of 'kings' in terms of having similar possibilities and luxuries. So it shows we're just repeating history but on a micro scale.
