You do realise that customers are always right no matter how they're voicing their concern? Customer support however is held to a higher level when communicating with customers even if the customers way of raising a complaint could be done in a more polite way or in a better manner?

The whole phrase is "the customer is always right in matters of taste". But I agree that they could be handling this with more poise.
