Yep. I realized that long ago. A lot of that AML stuff is driven by authoritarian regimes exercising extraterritorial power through the likes of the FATF and putting regimes they don’t like on the ‘gray list’. Unfortunately, many good-intending folks don’t realize that they’re part of that game.
