I am directly refuting it. Code is speech. Finished. Can't you see this is a government sponsored campaign to garner public support to frame it this way. They no they have already lost in court. This 1st amendment. You still will not answer the question. What will happen to the decentralisation of Bitcoin when only the government or selected contractors can mine it?

The projection of power is absolute, and grounded in objective reality. The technology is already pervasive and not siloed within US companies. There is no meaningful scheduling they could do at this point to prevent the creation or possession of miners. The only thing such legislation would cause is a hollowing out of the US marketshare of hashpower. That would effectively destroy what's left of the United States in a few years time. This is the "hubris" Lowery talks about, and goes into detail on particularly in the discussion during the Q&A at the end of Massachusetts Bitcoin conference talk he gave back on January 12th.

I understand your concern but frankly it is nearly as myopic as the "muh blackout" argument against Bitcoin.

I've spent decades in the sector and I frankly see no possibility of such a move being actionable.

And I totally reject your and his framing. This is 1st amendment and the end of discussion. You're what's called a useful idiot who has fully bought into the latest government narrative, and what is worse you actually paid money to do it. After all we have seen over the last 3 years, I find it embarrassing you would abandon any critical thinking and wilfully advance the latest government funded propaganda campaign.

I don’t think it means what you think it means.

And i find it amazing your solution to government corruption is to give the government more control. Seriously your infatuation with this government agent is concerning and antithetical to bitcoin.

Are you new here? I’ll forgive you as you clearly don’t know much about #Bitcoin.

Bitcoin cannot be controlled. It cannot be stopped. If you like the idea of a better world, at the idea of sound money, and removing the corruption of easy money from society, than you would probably be pro-Bitcoin.

If you think driving common sense into the government is a bad idea, and sharing a grounded theory thesis that refutes wokeism, proof of stake, imaginary power structures, and indefensible ideas, then you are clearly incomprehensibly short sighted and in deep need of a hard look at what it is exactly that you are standing for.

You are either intentionally missing my point now or just stupid, I can't tell genuinely.

#[2] is a lackey for a spook thus a spook.

Could be. My guess is the psy opp is working as intended. When someone spends their own money on something they believe they have made the correct decision and will defend thier purchase and the motivation behind it. No one like that feeling of buyers remorse, instead of accepting you've been fooled, you double down and try to find the good aspects of your poor decision. There are levels to these operations

These are good points and you are probably right.

I noticed reading thru this exchange that the spook defender doesn't bother to defend any of your counter points. It also hasn't responded to me calling it out as a spook. These seem dead give aways to me but maybe it is simply embarassed?

Yeah he's talked past ever counter point. Lowery does the same thing. Not once has he been pressed on these issues and he blocks and ignores on twitter. I've even spun up fresh accounts and asked him respectfully instead of calling him out.

I know my arguments are valid as they won't address them

I even understand the Lowery simping to a degree. When he first showed up I was intrigued and even excited about his ideas. It seemed fresh and aggressive for nation state adoption which had started with El Salvador.

After listening to plebs counter his framing/reasoning with Code is Speech and understanding what Bitcoin as munitions would imply going forward it all became obvious.

Bitcoin is software which is code which is free speech.

Bitcoin is NOT a weapon. I fully reject this narrative framing and don't think it will ever pass muster.

Yes I was in the same boat. Only after you see him avoid the question repeatedly do you know he's being disingenuous.

I see your mind is closed, I shall respectfully retire. ✌️

You know there are other countries besides the US right? Bitcoin is global, hash rate is liquid.

While the global debt is denominated in USD it is the only country worth mentioning

Of course! And I absolutely love the idea of defanging the insane bank controlled cabal running the US government, and virtually every other western government. But in order to do that it requires kicking the bankers out of their positions of power. That is a global effort, and the most deeply entrenched rot is most certainly located in the US.

I have no blind “Team America” bullshit ethos behind my words. Hopefully that makes sense.
