This is cool, but another cool feature would be to make sure that the feed in Damus doesn’t see duplicates. So if somebody post something and I follow them and then somebody else I follow repost, then somebody else I follow repost again I get to see the exact same thing three times in my feed And then if I repost it myself, I’ll see that as well.

Filter what is shown to deduplicate.

What version are you on? We already filter duplicate reposts

1.13 (838) 0c148c8

Will upgrade to 1.13.1 and see.

Ok upgraded to 1.13.1 (871) 86d3faf

If I see a duplicate will pst here.

BTW. Thanks for the response. I am totally flabbergasted by the fact that the actual developers respond to messsage on this platform! I was not actually expecting that…

#nostr

Ok found an example:

Carl b munger posted,

Then Lauren reposted

Both showed in my feed pretty close.

Since Lauren reposted without adding content or quote, I would not expect her repost of the original in my feed.

If the repost was say more that 48 hrs later that would be fine (or even like 500 message down the feed). Otherwise I would prefer not to see it.

Here is another example as a video this one is more egregious as they literally are posted back to back on top of each other so no distant filtering needed:

Gladstein made a post and Dan reposted moments later both entered my feed.

yeah that's expected, it will do the original post and at most one repost of it.

Ok that might be all I am seeing…

we could improve this by not showing the repost if its too close to the creation date of the actual post
