Nostr and Damus are making tech headlines again. This is good for Nostr as people will check it out to see what all the fuss is about. Ironically, all of the fuss is about being censorship resistant and Apple is making a use case for exactly that. If Apple bans Damus, Nostr and Zaps live on via dozens of other apps across multiple platforms. 🤙🏻💜🫂

Onward and upward

Reminds me of when Elon banned linking to other social media platforms and specifically listed Nostr.

No one knew what it was. Many decided to find out.

I think this sucks and Apple is wrong both about it’s policy and how it applies to Damus. But I also think that Damus shouldn’t go away if apple bans zaps altogether.

It sucks but there is value to damus and nostr beyond zaps. And there are business models which can support the app beyond tips from zaps.

I agree. Nostr is more important than Zaps and this just highlights some of those open protocol properties.

time to port Damus to Android

#[1] So, Apple users. How you liking your Safari webapp nostr zapping experience?

#Nostr is basically the idea of free speech. How could you believe that a total closed platform and digital eco system like Apple's #iPhones would a agree to it and allow it.

I'm not surprised.
