That's a pretty abrupt end to a discussion. I never said I wanted to get attacked btw. That's a strawman.

So your argument is "to hope that nobody uses guns anymore once everybody owns guns".

Hope is good. And believing in game theory is good way to make decisions, too. But islamists have shown more than once that they're not playing by the rules here.

Being equally armed doesn't mean you're equally fast to pull the trigger.

So, anyway. Let's hope neither of us ever has to experience such a fight.

It’s not a strawman.

A nutjob took a knife into a mall in Sydney here 6 weeks ago - he stabbed 17 ppl before cops shot him. Pretty much all women and children. 20 mins for cops to get him with one random bloke holding him on an escalator with a pole for a bit.

Imagine a world where everyone had guns. You think the nutjob stabs 17 women and children then?

Your bar of being equally fast to pull the trigger is wrong.

A lunatic with a gun or a knife of a toothpick can kill someone. That is impossible to stop. It’s the second, third, fourth etc attacks that guns will stop in a way that knives and toothpicks won’t.

The first attacks get deterred by the knowledge their brains are gonna be on the pavement within 10 seconds.

You might not like violence, your government has clearly whipped that into you. That’s the real world though. Sacks of flesh and bone behave differently when the destruction of said sacks is equally plausible to when just one side is going to suffer.
