Decapped my 1x fired brass. I’m using an old “The Precision Reloader” press and a Lee universal decapping die. Depriming brass is dirty and leaves carbon debris on the press (I’ll post a picture below). I’d rather not have an abrasive like that getting caught up in the ram of my nice press so I keep dirty work on my The Precision. Next step is cleaning the brass. I know some f-class shooters don’t but I’m not introducing variables/new practices while I’m working up a load.

What are your thoughts on depriming and cleaning, especially for hunting and precision?

Deprime on a separate single stage loader, clean wet with steel pins, load on multi stage or single stage depending on load and purpose for the round.

I like to use the handheld lee press to deprime while watching TV. Bench mount single stage press for precision round loading. Auto indexer for steel plate handgun rounds.
