In Wyoming, we aren't used to large quantities of rain at one time. We just got some crazy rain that they were predicting. The emergency weather report says different areas got between .75 and 1.75 inches of rain over a little more than an hour. We had significant flooding in our business. Luckily we replaced our carpet with hard sealed floors 2 years ago. We had every employee working a shop vac, squeegie or just dragging trash cans along the floor to pick up the water that was rushing under the wall on the side of the building. We had people madly moving boxes and accessories away from the wall and up on things to keep them out of the oncoming water.
In Wyoming, we aren't used to rain like this.
I'll be picking my route home by the high areas.
When you live in the flat lands (like when I used to live in Florida), if you get 2" of rain, you have 2" of water everywhere. When you live in the hills and mountains, If you get 2 inches of rain, the low areas could have more than 2 feet of water from the runoff and running water causes a lot more damage than stationary water. I'm wondering what the river is going to look like when I get home.
